Miami University's Project Dragonfly, Advanced Inquiry Program (AIP) is the graduate program in which I am pursuing my MA in biology.
My affiliated institution of learning is the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance. I have in-person experiential learning days for some of my courses onsite at the Beckham Center for Conservation Research and out in the field, around San Diego County. I have the unique opportunity to meet industry leaders and learn how they perform their work. As a student, I have also been able to explore extra-curricular learning opportunities within the organization, such as doing quadrat land surveys in the San Diego Safari Park's Biodiversity Reserve on multiple occasions.
I enrolled in this program to enhance my scientific learning and grow as a professional in the animal-field. I have pushed my boundaries and developed new skills, all while performing projects I was passionate about and could be applied to my workplace. I have also found new passions that have become new career goals of mine, where I hope to make significant contributions to the realm of herpetology, conservation, and inclusion in S.T.E.M.
